Dublin Core is a metadata standard (NISO Z39.85) for value-added information created in order to aid in the identification, arrangement, description and access to networked resources. Dublin Core provides definitions for describing the properties of objects for Web-based resource discovery systems, similar to information provided in the traditional library card catalog.
