[Illustration] Southwest Corner Elevation of the Proposed Addition ATTAINING OUR OBJECTIVES Our efforts of the last few years have provided for the Christian Education of our children by; In 1952 - Erecting 1st floor of Educational Unit, providing 4,000 square feet of educational space. In 1955 - 1. Erecting 2nd floor of Educational Unit and the West Wing providing 6,000 more square feet of educational space. 2. Installing New Heating Plant. These accomplishments magnified the inadequacies of the Sanctuary. Thus in 1956 the Board of Trustees established: 1. A Building Committee of 14 persons to study space requirements and how to meet them. 2. A Building Fund Committee was appointed to consider and direct the efforts of the Congregation in solving the financial problems involved. 3. March 3, 1957, the Congregation accepted the reports and recommendations of these two committees and by a 95% majority authorized the Trustees to conduct a Fund Rais- ing Campaign over a three year period. The Expanded Sanctuary Building . . . will seat over twice as many as the present one, and will provide space for 300 in the Din- ing Room and 50 additional Church School pupils. It will have a modern and efficient kitchen and adequate room for the Choir to use for robing and rehearsals. The Church Spire will be reinforced and safe. There will be a Sacristy for the efficient preparation of the elements for the Lord's Supper and the storage of the Communion Silver. It will have convenient access for entrance to and exit from all parts of the Church Building, and adequate Office Space for members of the Church Staff. . . . will include an enlarged Chancel and a beautiful and worshipful Sanctuary. The estimated cost given by the Architect, to complete all projects is $298,000. " . . . and they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for the good work." NEHEMIAH 2:18 [Illustration] Interior of the Proposed Sanctuary [Illustration] Northwest Corner of the Proposed Addition HOW WE CAN DO IT Our Goal: 3% of Our Income Each Year The total amount raised will depend entirely upon the STANDARD OF GIVING that is ESTAB- LISHED. The more we give the less we borrow. Your pledge should be determined by your ability to give, but one's willingness sometimes needs to be brought into line with one's ability. One logical approach is to apply the principle of stewardship or percentage giving, that is give a percentage of your income in proportion as God has blessed you. It is suggested that those, who are not tithers, begin by giving 3% or more of their income each year for 3 years to the Build- ing Fund. By percentage or proportionate giving, the gifts of all are equalized. The table below shows examples of percentage giving based upon various annual incomes . . . Annual 3% Pledge Total 3 year Income Each Year for Pledge for Building Fund Building Fund $ 4,ooo $ 120.00 $ 360.00 5,000 150.00 450.00 6,000 180.00 54o.oo 8,000 24o.oo 720.00 10,000 300.00 900.00 12,000 36o.oo 1080.00 15,000 450.00 1350.00 (The percentage often increases in higher brackets.) ". . . they gave according to their means and beyond their means, of their own free will . . ." 2nd Corinthians, 8th Chapter CAMPAIGN SUNDAY-APRIL 14,1957 BUILDING COMMITTEE Chairman, FRANCIS E.
