Obituary

BAXTER Alta Mildred Baxter, age 85, of Columbus, was born June 20, 1916 in Pearl, Wash. to James and Lillian Lassen. She later assumed the name of her step-father, Henry C. Baxter. She attended schools in Mich., Oh. and Ind. and graduated from Reitz High School in Evansville, Ind. Alta was a beauty operator and owned her own shop in Columbus for many years. She is survived by a sister, Mary O. Baxter of Marion, Oh.; cousins in Oh. and Mich. Service will be held at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. on Wednesday, April 24 at 2 p.m. Calling hours will be from 12noon until 2 p.m. preceding the funeral.
