Background
The Sharon Township Fire Department is shown responding to an emergency. A fire department was officially organized in the Village of Worthington in 1916. In 1931 the Sharon Township Fire Department formed, assuming fire protection responsibilities for both Worthington and Sharon Township. Responsibility for the Fire Department was transferred to the City of Worthington in 1993.
