Jean Williams, Alan Williams and Student at Piano

Black and white photo of three people looking at piano

Description

This undated, black and white photograph shows three white people regarding music at a piano; they are (left to right) Jean Williams, Alan Williams and a high school student. All three are behind a piano, with Jean and Alan standing and looking down while the student is seated, and appear to be regarding a long piece of paper, possibly a music composition, on the piano's music rest. The student holds one end of the paper with his left hand and Jean holds the other end with her right hand. The piano appears to be an upright piano, with only the top visible. Jean wears a short-sleeved blouse and bow-tie, Alan is in a suit and tie, and the student wears a sweater and button-down shirt. The three appear to be in a music classroom, possibly at Worthington High School, with two folding chairs against the wall behind them, as well as two windows and a door.

Jean Williams (née Parks) was head of vocal music for Worthington Schools, and Alan Williams was head of instrumental music; the two were married on August 20, 1953.
