Background
Interior of the Masonic Temple, located at 634 High Street Worthington, Ohio. The New England Masonic Lodge was constructed in 1820 as Freemasonry was an integral part of Worthington's community structure.
Freemasonry is a fraternal organization dedicated to the ideals of charity, equality, morality and service to God. Members are initiated through a series of allegorical rituals that symbolize spiritual development.
Many prominent Americans, such as Benjamin Franklin and Geore Washington were Masons. An adjoined lodge was built in the mid-1950's, and was converted to condominiums in 2014.
