St. John's Episcopal Church
Basic details
Background
St. John's Episcopal Church of Worthington is depicted here. The church's first parish house is visible on the right. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Gilbert, pioneer residents of Worthington, celebrated their sixtieth anniversary on January 1,1888. A gift of a ten dollar bill inspired Mrs. Gilbert to begin a fund for a parish house, so that the Women's Guild could have a meeting place. The building was completed within the year.
