Mary Ellen Minton, age 92, of Worthington, Monday, August 24, 1998 at O.S.U. Hospital. Preceded in death by husbands Stanely L.O. Houghton and Harvey Allen Minton, step-son Dr. John Peter Minton. Survived by step-son Harvey S. (Jane G.) Minton; step-daughter, Helen Ann Minton (Michael) Paul; step-daughter-in-law, Jan Minton (H. Richard) Wood; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Member Worthington United Methodist Church. Graduate of Worthington High School, The Ohio State University with Masters Degree in Home Economics. Member Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Phi Upsilon Omicron Honorary Sorority, former member of the OSU Faculty and a teacher at several high schools. Member Worthington Chapter #289 O.E.S., State Regent of Ohio D.A.R. 1959-1962 National Vice President General of Public Affairs of D.A.R., held many offices in the Worthington Chaper of D.A.R., member CU Chapter of PEO, Worthington Women's Club, and Worthington Historical Society. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, August 28, 1998 at the Potter Chapel of the Worthington United Methodist Church. Rev. Alan Sippel officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington, and from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Friday at church. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery.
