Roy M. Putman Dies Suddenly At Linworth
Funeral Held Tuesday And Burial Made With Full Military Honors
Roy M. Putman T|S, U. S. Army, 43, died suddenly of a heart attack, Saturday afternoon at his home in Linworth.
Mr. Putman who was born in Columbus had lived in Linworth for the past 10 years. He joined the Marine Corps when about 18 years old, and served one enlistment.
Following his discharge he was employed for some time as a telephone lineman. He later enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in several capacities up until the time of his death. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, and New England Masonic Lodge No. 4.
Surviving are his wife, Ocea; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Wing, Worthington, Mrs. Beulah Robinson, Vancouver, Washington, and a niece, Mrs. May Caldwell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Corbin Funeral Home, with Rev. J. Dyar Moffett, officiating. Burial with full military honors by the U. S. Army was made in Walnut Grove cemtery
