William R. Cox, age 70, of Columbus, died Tuesday, April 8, 1997 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Retired Aeronautical Engineer for Rockwell International and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. Preceded in death by his brother John R. Cox. Survived by his wife Elinor; children, Lt. Col. Wesley R. Cox, Ph.D. of Springfield, Va., Kenneth Cox, Ph.K. and Steven R. Cox, both of Columbus, Oh., Kathleen S. Amiott of Cincinnati, Oh.; grandchildren, Douglas, Rebecca, David, Bradley, Angela, Daniel, Clarissa and Michelle; sister, Marilyn Rife of Buffalo, N.Y. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 1997 at Rutherford-Corvin Chapel, 515 High St., Worthington.
