Background
This Queen Anne Style residence, known informally as the Holt House was built in 1892. Samuel Holt (b. 1820, d. 1905), wife Emily Holt (b. 1827, d. 1902), daughters Mary and Julia were the first residents of the house. Julia continued to live in the home until her death in 1937. Stanley Snouffer (b. 1877, d. 1970) and wife Mertie Snouffer (b. 1886, d. 1969) purchased the property in 1938, residing there for three decades.
