Background
The tombstone of Ebenezer Goodrich, early Worthington settler, is shown in this picture. Ebenezer Goodrich was recruited by James Kilbourne to settle in Worthington as there was a need for skilled carpenters and joiners. Ebenezer was active in St. John's Episcopal Church and the New England Lodge. He also served in the War of 1812. After he married Betsy Dixon Goodman, they lived with their children on the tract of land where the cemetery now stands. He served as a Justice of the Peace for many years in Liberty Township, Delaware County. He died in 1846.
