Background
Worthington elementary school children learn about fire prevention and safety during a 1987 classroom visit by the Sharon Township Fire Department. A. R. Wilson served as the Fire Chief at the time. The Sharon Township Fire Department provided fire protection and emergency medical service to both Sharon Township and the City of Worthington for most of the 20th century. Responsibility for the Fire Department was transferred from Sharon Township to the City of Worthington in 1993.
