Background
Bluffsview Elementary School, which opened in 1991, was host to Governor George Voinovich, Arnold Schwarzenegger and other dignitaries for the nation's Fitness Crusade. President George Bush (Sr.) was expected as a guest, but cancelled due to the April 29, 1992 riots in Los Angeles. Despite the absence of the President, the day was a major media event, as the message of the importance of everyday fitness was delivered to Bluffsview students.
