Background
The City of Worthington Division of Fire and EMS float entry celebrated the history of fire and emergency services in the community. Historic events in time included appointment of the first fire wardens were by the Village Council in 1836, official organization of the Worthington Fire Department in 1916, Sharon Township's first emergency squad vehicle in 1953, and the transfer of responsibility of fire and emergency medical services from Sharon Township to the City of Worthington in 1993.
