Shaker Square Playground Fitness Station

Description

This color photograph shows a portion of the Shaker Square Playground after its renovation by the City of Worthington. The picture shows a green metal fitness station in the foreground and swings in the background. The ground below the playground area is covered in mulch, and trees and a light-colored building are in the background.

As posted on the City of Worthington Facebook page on October 3, 2023, the playground was open for play after crews finished up the week before. The playground replacement was part of the City's Annual Playground Improvement. Because the original playground was installed in 1994, City Council set aside $200,000 to fund the project in its Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and Worthington Parks and Recreation Department staff worked closely with residents and the Parks and Recreation Commission to come up with a final design for the new playground.
