This wooden joint is from the end of a rafter of the New England Lodge, constructed in 1820 by Arora Buttles. It measures 3 5/8 inches. New England Lodge No. 4 is the oldest Masonic Temple west of the Allegheny Mountains in continuous use. It is a federal style building constructed of brick and stone.
