The Worthington High School varsity basketball team placed as co-champions in the Mid-Six League following a victory over Grove City in February 1953. The championship was shared with Westerville. Worthington's "Little Cards" reserve basketball squad also was victorious over Grove City, securing the team an undisputed first place championship in the Mid-Six League.
