This short history of the Worthington Republican Women was written for the 35th anniversary celebration of the organization. The club was officially organized on August 19, 1965 when a list of the following names was submitted to the Ohio Federation of Republican Women for application of membership to the Ohio and National Federations of Republican Women's Organization: Mrs. Mary Lou Baker, Mrs. Helen Davenport, Mrs. Phyllis DeMerit, Mrs. June Hard, Mrs. Dorothy Harding, Mrs. Anita Jackson, Mrs. Beverly Newcomb, Mrs. Charlotte Swearengen, and Mrs. Leatrice Wait.
