Ahern Suzanne S. Ahern, passed away February 10, 2015. She was born April 11, 1947 in Watertown, NY, the oldest child of Robert J. O'Connor and Avis Weatherup O'Connor. She was valedictorian of Watertown High School class of 1965. She graduated from State University of New York at Potsdam with a BA degree and Kent State University with a MS degree in Library Science. She worked for the University of Akron library and the city of Akron Department of Planning & Urban Renewal prior to being a stay-at-home mom to Ellen and Kate. Sue touched many lives as wife, daughter, mother, sister, aunt, in-law, niece, cousin and friend. She volunteered for many years at Worthington Christian High School. She taught a women's bible study at Meadow Park Church of God for many years and was a co-care leader of the Sojourners Sunday School class. She made a special effort to stay connected to her nieces and nephews and loved attending the annual O'Connor/Weatherup family reunions in upstate New York. Although starting late in life she became an accomplished skier and enjoyed ski trips to Colorado with friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Anthony Ahern; daughters, Ellen Ahern and Katherine (Eric) Wannemacher; her brother, (her hero) William (Amy) O'Connor; sisters-in-law, Ann Robinson, Mary Pat (John) Philippone, Elizabeth Palumbo, Lynne O'Connor; and brother-in-law, John (Linda) Ahern; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, many cousins, and many dear friends. Sue was preceded in death by her father and mother Robert and Avis O'Connor, sister Margaret who died in childhood and brother Richard, who died September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center, and her niece Christina. Visitation will be Monday, February 16, 2015 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON Chapel, 6699 N. High St, Worthington, OH 43085. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Meadow Park Church of God, 2425 Bethel Rd., Columbus, 43220.
