BARRINGTON January 29, 1943-November 8, 2002. With great sadness, Lydia, Matthew, Joy, Anna and Jesse announce the death of their beloved father, Tom Barrington. He died peacefully at Riverside Memorial Hospital where he was receiving treatment for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Born in Lima, Ohio, Tom graduated from Lima Senior High School and The Ohio State University, where he played football as a running back under Woody Hayes. He continued his football career in the NFL playing for the Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints. He was a gifted public speaker and was actively involved in Campus Crusade for Christ and The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Tom was an associate with The Barber Group. He was a loving husband to his wife Judye and constant encourager and supporter to his five children. Tom Tom? loved his twelve grandchildren, Lydia, Ashley, Benjamin, Reagan, Saige, Marah, Devon, Hadley, Madilyn, Emma, Gabriella and Zachariah very much. He is survived by siblings, Janet, Steve and John; mother, Martha Green Barrington. Dad will be most remembered for his bold stand for Christ and modeled his life after Romans 1:16a For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ?. Memorial gifts may be made to the Rescue Mission, East Wayne St., Lima, Ohio. Private burial service. Public memorial service Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grace Brethren Worship Center, 8225 Worthington-Galena Rd.
