Braskett Richard Paul Braskett, age 74, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014. He endured his lengthy and debilitating illness with unbelievable dignity and grace. Richard was born in Kokomo, Indiana on August 1, 1940 to the late Kenneth and Julia Braskett. He graduated from Kokomo High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 25 years in executive hotel management and received many awards throughout the years. He was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and runner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son Allyn R. Braskett and sister Shirley (Harold) Volkmer. Survivors include his loving wife and caregiver of 47 years, Eleanor M. "Lea" Braskett; sons, Paul R. (Sara) Braskett and Scott K. (Kristi) Braskett; grandchildren, Paul Jr., Kate, and Erin; beloved sister-in-law, Marlene J. Keaton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 5100 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Greg Herndon officiating.
