Harry Thomas Carter passed away quite suddenly on Sept. 29th, 2017 at St. Ann’s Hospital. Tom, as he was known to many was born March 8th, 1941 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late Harry E. Carter and Mina Blanche (Benson). After graduation from Troy High School where he played and coached football, he attended Wayne State University where again he played football. He then served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Upon his discharge, he worked for Westinghouse and Jess Howard Electric before becoming a self employed Industrial Electrician. Tom operated his business, Tom Carter Electric Maintenance for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Melinda Mooney Carter, his loving daughter Elizabeth Jeanne Carter, his grandson William Thomas Carter-King, sisters Maryann Paszek and Nancy Watson, brothers Philip Carter and David Carter, step children Lara Julien, John Rister and Melissa Woerner and step grandchildren Danielle Drakulich, Joe Drakulich, Hunter Julien, Bryce Julien, Madeline Grubbe, Adelaide Grubbe, Sam Grubbe and Colin Rister. He enjoyed OSU Football games, WWII memorabilia, taking his cat Taz on long walks, and family outings and get together with his two sisters, brothers, cousins and step-grandchildren. A loving and caring husband and father, a friend to many, he was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (6176 Sharon Woods Blvd, Columbus Ohio 43229) where service will be held Oct. 5th with visitation at 11:00 am, service at 12, with internment to follow at Flint Rd Cemetery.
