Daniel Richard Howard passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 1, 1962 to Richard Howard and Diane Moody. Mourning his loss are his wife, Cynthia, their son, Luke, their daughter Rachel, his parents, Richard Howard and Diane Moody, and his brothers and sisters - Mark (Stephanie) Howard, John (Lynette) Howard, James (Sonya) Howard, Ronald (Andrea) Moody, Kimberly (Christopher) Knorr, Deborah (Raymond) Newara, Michael Moody, Laura (Michael) Hanley, David (Tracey) Moody, and Linda (Tommy) Moore. Dan is also survived by his aunt Donna Rudy, aunt Cathy Eckhoff, aunt Susie Morrison, uncle Jack Howard, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves to mourn a host of church, school, and work friends. Dan is loved and cherished by all who knew him, and though his entire family is deeply saddened by this sudden loss, they are comforted in the promise of a coming Savior who will resurrect all those who love Him. (Titus 2:13;1 Thessalonians 4:13). Dan was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Academy, where he met and fell in love with Cynthia, his wife of 36 years. He was the co-owner of Excel Electrical Contractor Corp. for 21 years. Dan's warm personality impacted all who knew him. He was known to show consistent help to those who needed a second chance, showing understanding, sympathy, and kindness to anyone in need. His interests included tennis, cars, and a cold bottle of Mountain Dew. And his greatest joy was his family, he was an incredible husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His family will receive friends from 5-8pm, Wednesday at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street (1/2 mile south of I-270). His Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Worthington Seventh-day Adventist Church, 385 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. In lieu of flowers, his family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Worthington Adventist Academy, where he served as school board chairman for many years and willingly volunteered his time and talents, or to the Worthington Seventh-day Adventist Church, where Dan was a long-time member, served as a deacon, and also volunteered in many other ministries.
