On December 20th, Margaret M. Matheson, longtime resident of Rochester, NY passed away at Parkside Village Senior Living Center in Westerville, Ohio. Mrs. Matheson was born in Hamilton, Scotland and immigrated to the United States in 1934. She became an American citizen in 1939. Mrs. Matheson worked as Head Teller and Receptionist for Eastman Savings and Loan Bank until 1963. For many years, she was the head of the Women’s Group at West Avenue United Methodist Church and later was a member of various committees at North Chili United Methodist Church. She was a leader in the West Point Parents Club of Rochester from 1982 to 1986. In 2014, Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Vincent J. Matheson. She is survived by her son US Army Lieutenant Colonel James Matheson and wife, Diane; daughter Janet Hainsey and husband, Kris; and five grandchildren: US Army Captain Ryan Matheson and wife Margaret; Rebecca MacCormac and husband Brendan; Alex Hainsey; Abigail Matheson; and Jessica Hainsey. She also leaves behind four siblings Robert McAdam, John McAdam, Elizabeth Martin and Joan Rice, along with many nephews, and nieces.
