Matheson Vincent James Matheson, 1923-2014, aged 91 years, longtime resident of Rochester, NY, passed away October 19, 2014 at Highbanks Nursing Home in Columbus, Ohio. At the time of death he was surrounded by his beloved wife, Margaret; daughter, Janet and niece, Pat. Mr. Matheson pitched Rochester, New York's Madison High School to a 9-5 complete game victory over Spencerport High School in the 1941 New York Sectional Baseball Championship Game. He was an employee of Eastman Kodak Company 1941-1942 when he was drafted into the US Army Air Corps for service in World War II from 1942-1946. He resumed his civilian career at Kodak from 1946-1985 retiring as Senior Vice President of Eastman Savings and Loan Bank. He was preceded in death by his brother US Army Captain John P. Matheson II. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret McAdam Matheson; son, US Army Lieutenant Colonel James Matheson and wife, Diane; daughter, Janet Hainsey and husband, Kris; and five grandchildren, US Army Lieutenant Ryan Matheson, Rebecca Matheson, Abigail Matheson, Alex Hainsey and Jessica Hainsey. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and a loving extended family. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects to the family at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085 on Thursday, October 23 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 24 at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
