McVEY Richard K. McVey, age 84, of Upper Arlington, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012. Richard was born in Union Furnace, Ohio, son of the late John M. and Madge Bowen McVey. Also preceded in death by his sister Jane McVey Cramer. Richard graduated from Union Furnace High School, Class of 1945 and The Ohio State University in 1953, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Richard was a sports enthusiast who coached basketball and baseball at Northwestern High School in Union County and was also a Mason and Shriner. He retired from Personnel Associates and following his retirement he was an associate of Beechwold Hardware. Richard was a very generous and kind man who was always willing to help anyone. He was an animal lover who enjoyed woodworking and antique repair, but most of all, Richard enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Frances Williams McVey; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Rader of Eldorado, Ohio; son, Mike McVey of Worthington, Ohio; granddaughter, Erin Rader; brothers, Harry McVey of Grove City, Ohio and Larry McVey of Upper Arlington; sisters, Donna McVey White of Grove City and Janice McVey Stewart of Logan, Ohio; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment Flint Cemetery.
