RICE Connie Sue Rice, born September 24, 1952, was ushered peacefully home into the presence of the Lord her Savior Tuesday, December 29, 2009, with her smile. She led an inspirational testimony these past several years, accepting God's will for her life and the metastatic sarcoma cancer that defeated her body - though not her spirit. Connie is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Rice; step-daughter, Jessica Rice(20); father, Edward Byers; brothers Edward (Madison) Byers, John (Sue) Byers; sister, Chris (Tom) Vollmer; son, Erik (Amy) Maxwell; grandchildren, Logan (6), Alex (2), and Molly (2) Maxwell; and several multi-generational nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Joyce Carol Byers, also to cancer at a young age. Connie gratefully and joyfully served as an Assistant Teacher for Grace Brethren Church of Columbus, OH at Worthington Christian School's The Early Childhood Center for the past 5+ years. In honor of Connie, visitation will start at 3 p.m., Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Grace Brethren Church Worship Center, 8225 Worthington-Galena Rd., Westerville, OH 43081.
