Jack H. Rowlands, 1935-2009

ROWLANDS Jack H. Rowlands, 73, of Worthington, Oh. and North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 after a brief illness. He was the youngest of three children born in Columbus, Oh. to John and Susan Rowlands. He married his high school sweetheart Connie Sue Davis, and was married 42 years until her death in 1999. He entered the military after school, and became a Colonel in the U.S. Army. He loved flying, and flew helicopters for the National Guard. He was an active member of Torks, a remote control flying club, enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and traveling via motor home with his camping club friends. He was loved by all, and will be sorely missed by his family and his wide circle of friends. He leaves three sons, Kevin of Boise, Id., Scott of Anchorage, Alaska and Tim of Wellston, Oh.; brother, Robert of Destin, Fla.; two grandchildren, Keara and Konnor of Boise, Id.; and his loving and devoted companion of 3 1/2 years, Barbara Jane "BJ" Peters. He also leaves his dog, Max, whom he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie and his sister Jeanne of East Sandwich, Mass. Visitation wil be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Oh. with funeral service Monday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at the same location. Burial with full military honors will be at Flint Cemetery, 8187 Flint Road, Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's name to Kobacker House-Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus Oh. 43214.
