Slaughter Asijah Nanette Slaughter, "Fats", "Mesa". June 23, 1985 - July 18, 2014 at Zusman Hospice after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Preceded in death by mother Kathryn M. Slaughter, grandfather Walter Fluellen, and grandmothers Chester I. Fluellen and Alberta Slaughter, uncles Jimmy, Ralph, Lionel Slaughter, and aunt Linda Slaughter. Survived by father, David (Valoria) Slaughter; sister, Ayana (Harouna) Cisse; siblings, David, Valoria, Elaina; nieces, Jasmine and Janae; and nephew Jamari; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Asijah graduated from Worthington Kilbourne High School in 2004. She worked at ARC North Industries and attended St. John's A.M.E. Church. She participated in Special Olympics, Recreation Unlimited, and volunteered stuffing survivor bags for the Susan G. Komen race for the Cure. Asijah was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her and was truly a SUPERHERO to all!!! Funeral Service 1 p.m. Friday, July 25 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 where family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Flint Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in honor of Asijah's memory.
