SLAUGHTER Kathryn Maria Slaughter, age 54, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2005 at her home. Kathryn was employed with the State of Ohio, Department of Taxation. She also attended Urbana University and was a 1969 graduate of Worthington High School. Her memberships included St. John's AME Church and the Women's Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Franklin Fluellen Sr. Kathryn is survived by her mother, Chester Fluellen; husband, David Slaughter; two daughters, Ayana and Asijah Slaughter; grandchildren, Jasmine, Janae and Jamari; brothers, Walter (Rose Walton) Fluellen, Jr., Rev. Michael (Laurie) Fluellen and Jeffery (Janice) Fluellen; sister, Patricia (Malcolm Jackson) Fluellen; and several loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Going Home service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at St. John's AME Church, 7700 Crosswoods Drive, Columbus with Rev. Michael Fluellen and Rev. Hurdie Billingslea, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington and again Wednesday one hour prior to the service at church. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to either the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital or Vista Care Hospice in memory of Kathryn.
