Robert Jonas Spiegel of Worthington, Ohio, passed away on July 25, 2021 at Riverside Hospital Hospice Ward in Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Columbus, with Rev. Mark Nodo officiating. Burial will be at Flint Cemetery in Worthington. Arrangements are by Rutherford-Corbin in Worthington. Robert was born in Bronx, New York, to Philip and Mary Spiegel on August 13, 1946. He went to school in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He attended Cleveland State University and Columbus State University. He married Douglas Sand on August 15, 2015 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. He retired from the Columbus School System in 1988. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Air Force. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, a maternal uncle and aunts.
Robert is survived by his husband, some cousins and a devoted church membership. Memorials may be given to The Council for a Livable World.
