John Wilton Ashton, age 91, of Buchanan, Mich. formerly of Worthington, died Saturday, October 31, 1998 in Berrien Springs, Mich. Mr. Ashton was born July 13, 1907 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Ned Sullivan and Clare (Shepherd) Ashton. He was a builder by trade. He had moved to Buchanan 12 years ago. He was a member of Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University, inBerrien Springs. John is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Nicola; daughter Dr. Rilla (Morris) Taylor, all of Buchanan; sons, Dr. Nicola (Ethel) Ashton of Salt "Lake City, UT. and Dr. Bruce (Leila) Ashton of Collegedale, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 1998 at Worthington Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 870 Griswold St., Worthington. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
