BANGS Ada D. Bangs, 82, of Worthington, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Riverside Hospital after a six-week illness. Ada was born in Stockport, England and immigrated to the United States as a WWII bride. She served the Allied Forces during WWII in the British Pay Corp. She met Kenneth Bangs, a First Sergeant serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp stationed in England and they were married in Stockport on March 27, 1945. They moved together to Fort Wayne, IN and later to Worthington, OH where they were residents the past 54 years. She was active in community activities, supportive of Worthington swimming, a member of Worthington Women's Club, P.E.O., Child Conservation League (CCL), Worthington United Methodist Church and Naomi Circle. She was an OSU Hospital Neonatal Unit volunteer. She and her husband supported many youth and civic groups through their businesses, Beechwold and Worthington Dairy Queens, which they owned and operated from 1952 until their retirement in 1983. She was preceded in death by parents Alexander and Dorice Tyrrell and brother John "Jack" Tyrrell of Great Britain. She is survived by husband, Kenneth; sister, Pat Burrows; children, Patricia Spreen and Larry Bangs both of Columbus, Roger Bangs of West Lafayette, IN and Suzanne Sevenler of Fairport, NY; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St., Worthington. Pastor Pat Oesterle officiating. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington.
