BLAIR Geneva M. Blair, 97, of Worthington, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Born March 28, 1913 in Utica, Ohio to Cash and Mayme Pettay Blackstone. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands C. Clifford Newstrom, and Harold F. Blair, brothers Herbert and Guilbert Blackstone and her faithful cat, Metzie. Jenny will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Carolyn Newstrom of Roswell, GA; granddaughter, Lucia (Mac) McElveen, serving in Iraq; sister, Marjorie Allbright of Vienna, VA; sister-in-law, Allene Blackstone of Granville, OH; nieces and nephews, many friends, and her faithful cat, George. Geneva "Jenny" graduated from Granville High School and attended Denison University and The Ohio State University, majoring in Agricultural Journalism and music. Active in 4-H, Cub Scouts, and several choirs, including Clintonville Mothersingers for 14 years. Member of the Scandinavian Club of Columbus since 1948, having served 6 years on the Board of Directors. Member of Worthington United Methodist Church and UMW Deborah Circle, The Franklin County Engineering Auxiliary, Charter Member of the Ayudamos Club of Licking County, a 4-H Youth Advisor Organization, and served as charter member of The Grant Riverside Service Board #9 Foundation. Retired in 1973 from Riverside Methodist Hospital. Family will receive friends Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just South of I-270). Viewing will also be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St., Worthington, Reverend Cyndy Garn, officiating. Interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Geneva's memory to Riverside Methodist Hospital, c/o The Ohio Health Foundation, Lupus Foundation, Friends of the Homeless, or National Fibromyalgia Assoc.
