BROWN Helen Wireman Brown, born December 7, 1911, died October 19, 2002 at Wesley Glen Special Care Unit. She was preceded in death by parents Mayme and Lynn Wireman, brother Harold Lynn Wireman and beloved husband Earl D Brown. She is survived by her niece, Kathryn Saffell of Estero, Fla; nephew, Robert L. Wireman of Norwalk, Ohio; good friend, Virginia Doalittle, Earl's nephew Jim (Sally) Brown; good friends and neighbors, Tom and Judy Skinner. Helen was born in Bellevue, Ohio. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in Elementary Education and eventually moved to Toledo. She and Earl moved to Columbus in 1943 where she was a wonderful and respected teacher in Columbus Public Schools. She received her Master of Arts Degree, concentrating on Language Development of Deaf children, from The Ohio State University in 1951. Helen then taught at the Ohio School for the Deaf. She taught many years at and retired from Northridge Elementary School. She was an active member of The Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She was a life member of: The Ohio State University Alumni Assoc., Retired Ohio State Teachers Assoc., Retired National Education Assoc., and Franklin County Retired Teachers Assoc. She belonged to Children's Hospital-Twig 54. Friends may call THE SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME BEECHWOLD-CLINTONVILLE CHAPEL 4341 N. High St. Wednesday 1 p.m. where funeral service will directly follow at 2 p.m. Dr Joel Baer officiating. Internment Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wesley Glen Charitable Care or Maple Grove United Methodist Church.
