Frances Helmick Buell, age 85, Columbus, December 4, 1985, at home. Long term resident of Worthington. Retired School Teacher Columbus Public Schools. Preceded in death by husband, Harold H. Buell and daughter, Barbara B. Brown. Member of Worthington Methodist Church and served it in numerous ways, especially the starting of the W.S.C.S. of which she was president. She also service the W.S.C.S. (now United Methodist Women) as Columbus District President. Member of Worthington charter Commission for the City of Worthington, charter member and Past President of the Worthington Womens Club, she also served as a board member of South Side Settlement and held life time membership in the Salvation Army Auxiliary, also member of the Worthington Music Club and numerous other community and professional organization. 1921 graduate of Smith College, Mrs. Buell also attended Sweet Briar College and did post graduate work at the Ohio State University. Mrs. Buell was left by her son, Robert G. Buell of the residence; 3 granddaughters, Lauri L. Buell, of Worthington, Tori Ann Buell, of New Paltz, N.Y., Robin G. Buell, Riverside, Calif. And by her brother, Robert Jay Helmick, Hilton Head, S.C. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington. Dr. W. Edge Dixon officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
