Veteran WWII Oscar H. Buxton, age 69, of 5732 Avenue Chateu duNord, Sunday, University Hospital. Native of Alexandria Licking County, Ohio. Member of Eastwood 7th Day Adventist Church where he served as head deacon prior to his illness. Between 1934 and 1938 a member of Clintonville Businessmen's Association. Owner of Buxton Food Shop. During World War II served 2 years in the South Pacific with 88 Bat. of the Navy Seabees. For 19 years was engaged in motel business with the Buxton Lodge South of Worthington, during which time he owned and operated the barber shop at Fort Hayes Barracks for 15 years. Retired 1965. Survived by Wife, Vera; sisters, Miss Gladys Buxton, Lithopolis, Ohio, Mrs. Florence Robinson, California; sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Lietke, Lake Worth, Fla. Friends may call at Southwick Funeral Chapel, 3100 N. High St. Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday 2-4 p.m. where service will be in the memorial chapel 8 p.m. Wednesday Graveside service and interment, 10 a.m. Thursday, Walnut Grove Cemetery, Pastor Kurtz of Eastwood S.D.A. Church officiating.
