BYERS James Russell Byers, age 74, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 29, 2001 while at Kobacker House. Veteran of WW II who served on the USS Lexington. Retired from Boeing. Member of York Lodge and York Country Club. He was also a passionate and accomplished golfer. Survived by wife, Barbara Byers; children, Gregory James Byers, Becky Jane (Michael) Jacobson and Bradley James (Janice) Byers; grandson, Lucas James DeCoite; nephew, James Moore of Columbus; and cousins in Pittsburgh and Ariz. Arrangements completed by the SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOME BEECHWOLD-CLINTONVILLE CHAPEL, 262-2600. A graveside service will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. September 4 at Walnut Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Sunday September 9 at 6 p.m. at Christian Community Church N. Pastor Duane Flemming officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Riverside/Grant Hospice.
