CAHILL Marjorie Magee Cahill passed away peacefully on January 4, 2010. Born April 19, 1921 to Pearl Hill Magee and Hugh Magee in Crown Point, NY, she was preceded in death by her husband John, son Craig, and brothers Hugh and Alex Magee, and their wives June and JoCorrine. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Connie Magee of Scotia, NY; her son, John; daughter, Lois Colley; grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Colley, Jessica Dallas; great-grandchild, James Dallas; numerous loving nieces and nephews and their spouses; incredible friends and caregivers, including HomeReach Hospice who supported her during her final years. Marjorie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Ohio Wesleyan University before joining the American Red Cross to serve in England and France during World War II. Following the war, Marjorie married John Cahill in Zurich, Switzerland and obtained her Master's Degree from the University of Florida. Marjorie worked as a social worker and teacher. Throughout her lifetime, she remained an advocate for education and the promotion of social justice. Marjorie was an avid reader who enjoyed membership in the Unitarian Church. She was an early feminist, active participant in peace coalitions, and an anti-war activist. She also enjoyed playing the piano. Arrangements to celebrate her life and commemorate her birthday will be announced by the family in the days to come.
