Clarence Ray Carruthers, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14, 1998 at his home at Park West Court Apartments. Born to Hartley and Bertha Carruthers on September 13, 1916. He was a lifelong resident of Worthington and until 1995 resided at the home of his cousin, Dorothy Jewett. He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he ushered. He leaves Norma Mendes and nephews Paul and John Slyh and niece, Doralee Slyh of Calif. Private services and burial were held at Walnut Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Park West Court Apartments, 600 Industrial Mile Drive, Columbus, Oh. on Friday August 21, 1998 at 10 a.m. officiated by Chaplain Diane Montgomery. In lieu of Flowers, friends wishing to honor Clarence's memory are requested to contribute to the American Cancer Society, 900 Michigan Ave., Columbus, Oh. 43215.
