Jane Barker Casey, 70, of Worthington, passed peacefully Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Arlington Court. She was one of two children of Margaret and Willard Barker, born in Canfield, Ohio. She graduated from Athens High School and Indiana University in music education. She taught elementary music in Barberton and Shaker Heights school districts. She founded and directed the Cleveland Orchestra Children's Choir in 1965. Jane sang with Robert Shaw in R.S. Chorale, the French Choral Conductors Institute and the Carnegie Hall Choral Institute. She was a member of Cantari Singers of Columbus. Jane was a devoted mother, a loving wife, homemaker deluxe and primo voice teacher. A remarkable and resilient singer, she endured being directed by her church choir conductor/husband for over 40 years. She is survived by husband, Maurice; daughter, Colleen; and her brother, Richard Barker. A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, where she was a member.
