CASEY Richard Casey, 86, of Columbus, died suddenly Saturday, May 1, 2010. Dick was born December 31, 1923 in Paterson, NJ and graduated from Ridgewood High School, NJ. He played football for the University of Michigan, graduated with a Law degree from the University of Wisconsin and was a member of the Ohio Bar Association for over 50 years. Dick worked his way through the ranks of State Auto Mutual and retired as VP of Claims. Dick and his wife, Laura, were world travelers and especially loved visiting Portugal. Dick was a member and usher at St. Michael Catholic Church and was extremely generous, intelligent, and well read. He was devoted beyond measure to his wife and grandchildren, was known as "Grandpa HiHo" and "Big Grandpa" and loved the company of animals. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Laura, son Michael, and grandson Branden Walz. Dick will be missed by his daughters, Penny (Dennis) Talarek and Cathie Walz; son, Jon (Val) Casey; grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, and Alex Talarek, Jennifer Tomchuck and Lindsey (Blaine) VanNote, and Jackie, Suzi, and Katie Casey; great-grandchildren, Peyton Tomchuck, Branden Vivian, Tanner VanNote, and Lilly Tehan; sister, Aileen Belisonzi; nephews and niece, Jon, Robert, and Cathy; special friend, Julia Olsen; special neighbors, Gladys and Gene Kuhn; and his cat, Babe. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 N. High St., Worthington, Fr. Richard J. Pendolphi, Pastor, Celebrant. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Columbus (Just South of I-270). Private interment at a later date.
