Chilcote Jack W. Chilcote, age 89, of Beavercreek, OH, formerly of Worthington, OH and Ft. Myers, FL, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014. He was born September 18, 1924 in Nova Scotia, Canada, the son of the late Chester and Gladys (Shane) Chilcote. Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Shields. Following his military service he graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Accounting, Business Administration and Finance. He was employed in the finance industry, retiring as Chairman of Freedom Federal Savings and Loan in 1989. Jack was a former member of Grace Brethren Church (Worthington, OH) and McGregor Baptist Church (Fort Myers, FL), and was a current member of First Baptist Church of Fairborn. He was also a member of the Freemasonry and the Shriners. He served on the board of the Worthington United Methodist Children's Home for over 20 years and on the Worthington Board of Zoning Appeals. He was a former President of the Mid-Ohio Savings and Loan League and a former Trustee of the Ohio League of Savings Associations. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Iris, in 2012, a son Ted Chilcote, and a brother Donald Chilcote. He is survived by a daughter, Betsy (Joseph) Paquin of Evanston, IL; granddaughter, Kelly Paquin; two sisters, Jean Wagenman of Mansfield, OH, Marilyn (Arthur) Malo of Gahanna, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you is extended to his niece, Jane Clifton, and her family for the loving care and support they provided to both Jack and Iris. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, 1167 Highview Dr., Fairborn. Rev. Ron Plemons officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, 5561 Milton Ave., Worthington, OH. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
