Edgar S. Downs, age 85, of Worthington, died Friday, November 6, 1998 at Woodside Village Retirement Center. Retired owner of the E. S. Downs & Co. Veteran of World War II, serving as Lt. Commander in the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia s. Downs. He is survived by his children, Dr. Edgar S. (Cindy) Downs III and Nancy D. (Cal) Taylor of Worthington. Grandchildren include Kristen, Shelby, Torry, Parker, Christina, Matthew & his faithful dog, "Big Red". Memberships include a fifty-year member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, The Yale Alumni Club, The Perdue Alumni Club, & St. John's Episcople Church. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 1998 at the Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will welcome their friends at their residence, Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
