FRANKENBERG Ronald "Ron" Frankenberg, age 71, of Worthington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, January 9, 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Ron was a mechanical engineer, having retired from CVI, Inc. after 35 years of service, and a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving on the USS Juneau. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry B. and Louise (Henderlick) Frankenberg and a brother Robert Frankenberg. He is survived by his wife, Jane; children, Brian Frankenberg of Lexington, KY, Janis Frankenberg of Dublin, Dick (Christine) Frankenberg of Powell, and Ginger (Jeff) Pettit of Dublin; grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathon, and Nicholas Frankenberg, Natalie and Molly Pettit, and Paige Frankenberg. Ron was a member of Leasure Blackston Post #239 American Legion, New England Lodge #4 F&AM, the Valley of Columbus, 32 Degree Masons, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Reception Unit of Aladdin Temple, the Royal Order of Jesters, Worthington and Northeast Shrine Clubs, Worthington Chapter #287 Order of the Eastern Star, and Worthington United Methodist Church. He was an avid Buckeye fan and served as an usher for 35 years at OSU Stadium for football games. He also loved to fish and was a boating enthusiast. Ron was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all he met. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High Street, Worthington, with Rev. Alan Sippel officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. A Masonic Funeral Service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095. The family would like to thank all those who extended their loving kindness during this difficult time, including the staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital and Vista Care.
