Frazier Joanne Audrey Frazier, age 84, of Columbus, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015. Joanne was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Byron and Lillian Mattox. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard (Dick) Frazier, and granddaughter Kimberly. Joanne attended The Ohio State University where she was an honors student in Veterinary Medicine. Joanne was an intelligent, empowering, and independent woman. Her husband Dick often said she was the smartest person he'd ever met, and anyone who got the chance to talk with her agreed. She could quote most any literature and loved to discuss science and politics. She was an innovative thinker and a supporter of equal and women's rights. She also enjoyed gardening, watching the birds in her bird feeders, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her loving daughters, Lynn (David Bish) Bartels, Susan (Todd) Crawford, and Deborah (Eric Silver) Frazier; grandchildren, Scott, Shaun, Katelyn, Aaron, Jeffrey, Justin, and Kira; brother, John (Mary) Mattox; brother-in-law, Joseph (Amber) Frazier; and many other extended family members, nephews, nieces and dear friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 12Noon until time of service.
