Linda George, age 60, of Columbus, Ohio died on April 12, 2022 at St. Ann’s Hospital following recent heart-related issues. On April 14, 1961, she was born in Grandview, Ohio the daughter of the late Robert George and Joanne George (Roche). She was preceded in death by longtime companion, Scott Decker, with whom she shared 18 years, as well as dear friends, Ricky and Donny. Survived by brothers, Gary George and Terry (Sharon) George; daughters, Rachel (Nate) Spaulding, Rebecca Heading, Jessica (Charles) Barbee; grandchildren, Taylor, Alyssa, Victoria, Ethan, Vonnie, Laylianna, Gianni, Nevaeh, Ezra; great-grandsons, Asher and Karter; special friends, Jason, Randi, Chris, Pam and Sue. Linda worked in customer service for many years before retiring to help take care of her grandchildren. She lived as an Ohio native her whole life and an avid Buckeye Fan! In fact, she could tell you the backroads way to get almost anywhere since she never drove on the freeway. She enjoyed tanning, floating in the pool in the summer with an iced tea, scrapbooking, and catching up on her favorite soaps and tv shows with black coffee in hand. She would go out of her way to make all holidays special and birthdays memorable, no matter how old you are. She would spend her last dollar to give a small gift and a meaningful, personalized card and underlined all the important words. Her proudest achievement in life was raising such a “good looking” family. She thrived on providing encouragement to family and friends through good times and bad, looking at the cup half-full, and was excited to celebrate all our achievements with us. Just as “Jesus wept” (John 11:35), Linda allows a short mourning period as we say good-bye for now, but her final wish is for her life to be celebrated and that we take comfort in the happy memories dear to our heart and smile when we think of her. Visitation will be held at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, located at 5464 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214, on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 12 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 1 p.m., followed by private burial at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
