GILMORE Bernice J. Gilmore, resident of Friendship Village of Columbus, passed away December 21, 1999 after a short illness. Bernice was born in Norris City, Ill. in 1901, the daughter of Anna Riley Robb and Victor Robb. In early adulthood, she moved to Chicago and was an employee of Mandel Bros. Dept. Store, where she met her future husband, Edgar Paul Gilmore of Pomeroy, Oh. They returned to Columbus, Oh. in 1930. Bernice was a member of North Broadway United Methodist Church and its W.S.C.S.; P.E.O., O.S.U. Faculty Wives and Child Conservation League. She is survived by her only child, Jean (John R.) Gilmore Webster of Tucson, Ariz.; and her sister, Dorothy (Paul) Barnes of Norris City, Ill.; 4 grandchildren, Joellyn Robb Webster Tuttle, John Rolla Webster, James Paul Webster, and Jason Gilmore Webster; 6 great-grandchildren, James Edgar, Alan, Evan, Devin, India, and Ransom; several nieces and a nephew. 4 nieces of her late husband, Edgar, who were very dear to her still live in the central Ohio area, they are: Nancy G. Bobb, Joann G. Parsons, Helen G. Bryan, and Dorothy M. Taft. Her beloved husband died in 1982. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2000, 10 a.m. at Friendship Village of Columbus, with interment later in the year at Walnut Grove Cemetery, at the family's convenience.
