George Leslie James  was born Thursday, March 31, 1932 in Sandusky, Ohio .

George L. James, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 5, 2015, after a valiant battle with metastatic prostate cancer. George was born March 31, 1932 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Robert Holzhauser and Georgia "Vivian" Stieff. He was a graduate of Clyde High School, class of 1949. He attended Miami (Ohio) University and was a member of the Pi Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and The Ohio State University, ultimately graduating from Franklin University with a degree in Business Administration. Preceded in death by his wife Phyllis A. James and son Steven G. James. Survived by daughters, Leslie (Robert) McLaughlin and Karin (Sean) Demaree; grandchildren, Chris Moore, Alex Moore and Abby Demaree; close friends, Molly Lambillotte, Irish Phillips and Heather Ratcliff. George faithfully served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army. He was a 60-year member of Monticello Lodge #244 in Clyde, Ohio, but considered York Lodge #563 in Worthington, Ohio his second home. He was a 60-year member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and a past president of the Worthington Shrine Club. In lieu of flowers, George requested that donations be made to the Children's Dyslexia Center, Attn: Jean Colner, 290 Cramer Creek Ct., Dublin, OH 43017, where he served as a proctor for several years. Friends may call from 12 noon-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085 with Masonic Service at 5:30 p.m. and Memorial Service at 6 p.m.
